New Supplement Devoted to Factor Xa Inhibitors (fondaparinux)
Henry I. Bussey, Pharm.D.
August 2004
This supplement to the journal, Pharmacotherapy (Vol 24, Issue 7, Part 2, July, 2004), addresses current issues regarding the limitations of traditional anticoagulants and the evolving role of factor Xa inhibitors for short-term and long-term prophylaxis in orthopedic surgery, for treatment of venous thromboembolism, and for management of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia. The differential effects of anticoagulants on wound healing, and the pharmacoeconomics of thrombosis management also are discussed.
With the permission of Pharmacotherapy, we have made each article from the supplement available in pdf format. Click on an article's title to view the pdf.
